Chocolate Cake

2        -        Cups           Flour

1        1/2     Cups          Sugar

-        1/2     Cup            Cocoa

-        1/2     Cup            Shortening or Margarine

1        -        Tsp             Vanilla Extract

1        -        -                 Egg

1        -        Cup            Buttermilk

 

Beat batter until smooth. Disolve and add:

1        -        Tsp             Baking Soda

-        1/2     Cup            Boiling Water

Mix well.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in a 9x13 pan.


Chocolate Cooked Frosting

1        -        Cup            Sugar

-        1/3     Cup            Milk

-        1/4     Cup            Butter

3        -        Tbs             Cocoa

Bring to a boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. 
Remove from heat and add:

-        1/2     Tsp             Vanilla Extract

Beat.
This can be cooled more quickly by dipping the sauce pan in cold water and stir.
Frosting will start to set up quickly so pour over cake while still warm and spread.
